Events in Bruges

Bruges offers a rich calendar of cultural events and performances, which take place throughout the year. The most relevant are: Festival Musica Antiqua; Bruges Canalside Festival; and the famous Heilig-Bloedprocessie (Procession of the Bloody of Christ) taking place in May on the day of the Ascension, which celebrates the relic of the drops of Jesus’ blood, which are kept inside the cathedral. The event sees a procession through the medieval streets of the Old Town. Last, but not least, the Chocolate Festival and the Festival of Ice Sculptures.
