Some of our Hotels in Bruges with on-line availability

Not far from the Old Town, in the north-east area of Bruges lies the beautiful old district of Kantcentrum, which was the district of craftsmen and lace makers. Still today in the Balstraat street you can see women engaged in the craft of lace making. Some of these laces can be bought at cheap prices in the shops of the borough.
Always in the same district stands the Kruispoort , which is the town walls, one of the most ancient and massive gates dating from 1402, built to protect the East entrance to town.
South of Kruispoort lies the memorial Muur der Doodgeschotenen, , in memory of the 12 victims shot dead by the German soldiers during the Second World War.
